Report Packaging Data (RPD)
The UK government's digital service through which obligated producers submit their packaging data. RPD collects detailed information on packaging types, materials, weights, and nations for fee calculation.
Report Packaging Data (RPD) is the official digital service operated by DEFRA through which obligated producers submit their packaging data as required under pEPR.
Data submitted through RPD includes:
- Material type and weight for each packaging item
- Packaging class (primary, secondary, transit, shipment)
- Whether packaging is household or non-household
- The activity type under which the data is reported
- Nation data — which UK nation the packaging is discarded in
- The reporting period the data covers
RPD submissions are used by the Scheme Administrator to calculate waste management fees and modulated fees. Data accuracy is critical — incorrect submissions can lead to wrong fee calculations and potential enforcement action. Producers can submit data directly or through their compliance scheme. Read our RPD reporting guide for step-by-step instructions.
